What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Various Roads, Swavesey) (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 202-
Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of this Order will be to introduce a 20mph speed limit on most residential roads in Swavesey, except for some more lightly built-up roads on which the existing speed limit will remain. It is also proposed to extend the 30mph speed limit in Rose & Crown Road and introduce a new 40mph speed limit buffer in Boxworth End.
Notice of Intention to Install Traffic Calming in Boxworth End and Ramper Road, Swavesey
Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to install the following measures:-
1. A priority narrowing, with kerb build-out on the west side of Boxworth End, with cycle bypass lane, located between property nos.96 and 98 Boxworth End, with drivers travelling northwards required to give way to opposing traffic.
2. A priority narrowing, with kerb build-out on the south side of Ramper Road, with cycle bypass lane, located between property nos.12 and 14 Ramper Road, with drivers travelling westwards required to give way to opposing traffic.
3. Visual road narrowing features outside property nos.36-40 and nos.159-161 Boxworth End.
The above proposals are intended to promote lower traffic speeds and improve road safety.
