What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (C22 The Moor, Westfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Moor – from the junction with C414 Stonestile Lane to the junction with C22 Three Oaks Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C414 Stonestile Lane – B2093 The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill, Ivyhouse Lane – C22 Butchers Lane, Three Oaks Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 and 9 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. If you require further information telephone Network Management on 0345 60 80 193.

The East Sussex (C96 Netherfield Road, Netherfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Netherfield Road – from the junction with U6320 Netherfield Way to the junction with B2096 Kane Hythe Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C96 Netherfield Road, Netherfield Hill, Netherfield Road – A2100 London Road, Ten Sixty Six roundabout – A271 North Trade Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C93 Crowhurst Road, Crowhurst/St Leonards-on-Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Crowhurst Road – from the junction with U6957 Swainham Lane to the junction with B2092 Queensway.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C93 Crowhurst Road, Sandrock Hill, Crowhurst Road, Forewood Lane – A2100 Hastings Road, Battle Road, Beauport Park roundabout, The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway – B2092 Queensway and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:30hrs to 15:00hrs on 11 and 12 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6433 The Grove/Rope Walk, Rye)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Centurion Traffic Management to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Grove/Rope Walk – for approximately 30 metres at the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via U6433 The Grove, Deadmans Lane – A268 Rye Hill, Fishmarket Road – A259(T) Fishmarket roundabout, Fishmarket Road, South Undercliff, Strand Quay, Wish Street roundabout – A268 Wish Street, Ferry Road, Station Approach, Cinque Ports Street – U6433 Rope Walk and southbound via U6433 Rope Walk – A268 Tower Street, Landgate, Rye Hill – U6433 Deadmans Lane, The Grove.

The Order commenced 19 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U3214 Saxon Road & U3233 Offa Road, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Saxon Road – from the junction with A259 Old London Road to the junction with U3232 Canute Road.

Diversion via A259 Old London Road – C92 Fairlight Road – U3232 Fairlight Avenue, Canute Road and vice versa.

Offa Road – at the junction with U3214 Saxon Road for a distance of 30 metres. Diversion via A259 Old London Road – C92 Fairlight Road – U3232 Fairlight Avenue – U3233 Offa Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 9 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 10 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2089 Ferry Road, Rye)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ferry Road – at the level crossing for a distance of approximately 30 metres.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via B2089 Ferry Road, Udimore Road – A28 Northiam Road, Horns Cross – B2165 Beckley Road, The Stream, Clayhill – B2088 Northiam Road, Main Street – A268 Peasmarsh Road, Two Hovens, Barnets Hill, Flackley Ash, Main Street, Rye Road, Rye Hill, Fishmarket Road – A259(T) Fishmarket roundabout, Fishmarket Road, South Undercliff, Strand Quay, Wish Street roundabout – A268 Wish Street, Ferry Road – B2089 Ferry Road and westbound via B2089 Ferry Road – A268 Station Approach, Cinque Ports Street, Tower Street, Landgate, Rye Hill, Rye Road, Main Street, Flackley Ash, Barnets Hill, Two Hovens, Peasmarsh Road – B2088 Main Street, Northiam Road – B2165 Clayhill, The Stream, Beckley Road – A28 Horns Cross, Northiam Road – B2089 Udimore Road, Ferry Road.
