M11 Motorway - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic To Maintenance Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 4(1) AND 14(1)(A) AND (C), (4) AND (7)
THE M11 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 6 TO JUNCTION 14)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the M11 Motorway in the Counties of Essex and Cambridgeshire to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The duration of each closure will vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion. The programme of works will start on or after 5 January 2026 and be completed by 23 December 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) authorise the overnight closure (20.00–08.00) of the M11 between Junction 6 and Junction 14;
(b) authorise the closure of all slip roads leading to and from the above length of the M11;
During the closures traffic will be diverted via junctions of the M11 and local roads.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles), and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 29 December 2025 and continue in force until 23 December 2026.
