What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Proposed Amendments to On-Street Parking Places in Woking
Surrey County Council (“the Council”) propose to make “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) (Amendment of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Prohibition and On-Street Parking Places Orders) (Amendment No.9) Order 202-” under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- Amend “The Surrey County Council Woking Controlled Parking Zone (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) Order 2019;” so as to revoke 1 shared use parking bay (Mon-Fri 9.30am-11.30am Permit Holders or Voucher parking 1hr limit – Woking Area 5) from outside “No.12 D3713 Fircroft Close, Woking.
Make certain amendments to the following existing Orders which impose waiting, loading and unloading and parking prohibitions and restrictions in the Borough of Woking, which will not affect the operation of those prohibitions and restrictions:- (1) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and Restriction) Order 2019; (2) The Surrey County Council West Byfleet Controlled Parking Zone in the Borough of Woking (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) Order 2019; (3) The Surrey County Council Brookwood Controlled Parking Zone in the Borough of Woking (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) Order 2019; (4) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) (Consolidation of Free Street Parking Places and Revocation) Order 2019; (5) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) (Consolidation of Loading bays and Revocation) Order 2019; (6) The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the Borough of Woking (Residents’ On-Street Parking Places) Order 2019; (7) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) (Consolidation and Revocation of Free Street Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Order 2019; (8) The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the Borough of Woking (On-Street Car Club Parking Places) Order 2019; (9) The Surrey County Council (Borough of Woking) Free On-Street Parking Places (Police Vehicles) Order 2019; (10) The Surrey County Council (Borough of Woking) (Bus Parking Places and Revocation) Order 2019; (11) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in the Borough of Woking) (Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) Order 2019; (12) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Woking) Electric Vehicle Parking Places Order 2021.
A copy of this Notice together with a plan showing the lengths of road to which the Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-andtransport/ policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transportconsultations These documents and a copy of the proposed Order may also be viewed, free of charge during normal opening hours, at:- (a) Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Merrow, Guildford, GU4 7BQ; (b) Woking Library, Gloucester Walk, Woking, GU21 6EP; (c) West Byfleet Library, The Old Sorting Office, Rosemount Avenue, Surrey, KT14 6LB; and (d) Knaphill Library, 4 Anchor Crescent, Knaphill, GU21 2PD. If you wish to object to, or make representations about, the proposed Order, including any in support, you must send them in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, a) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or b) in writing to the Traffic Regulation Orders Team at Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey GU4 7BQ, by 15 January 2026.
