Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 10 December 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D130 Old Barn Lane, Churt. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach and/or Barr Engineering Services Limited to carry out telegraph pole replacement and/or to carry out cabling and/or maintenance works outside “Avalon, Old Barn Lane”. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 January 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Alternative route:- Old Barn Lane, Hale House Lane, Tilford Road, Green Lane and Old Barn Lane.

Whitmore Vale Road (D5500) Hindhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 5 December 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Whitmore Vale Road (D5500) Hindhead as extends from its junction with Churt Road (A287) to the access for the access for the property known as “Creech House”.

Alternative route – Whitmore Vale Road, B3002 (Headley Road), A333 (Portsmouth Road) and A287 (Tilford Road and Churt Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable M Group Telecom to facilitate a pole replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 January 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 was made by reason of danger to the public due to restoration works being undertaken at Runfold Quarry.

The order came into operation on 28 February 2022 and was due to expire on 28 August 2022. It was first continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 August 2023, extended for the second time until 31 August 2024, then extended until 31 December 2025. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for the fourth time until 31 December 2026, or completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) at Runfold Quarry, approximately 160m south of the junction with Guildford Road (Grid Ref: 486341 147360), for 500m in a south south-westerly direction.

An alternative route around the closure has been provided and is indicated on site.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
