Gateheads Brow, High Casterton - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U5395 GATEHEADS BROW, HIGH CASTERTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U5395 Gateheads Brow, High Casterton, from its junction with North Heads Lane (U5397), extending in an easterly direction for approx. 85 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Gateheads Brow (U5395), Wandales Lane (C5084), Well Lane (U5399) and the U5397.

The Order will come into operation on 19th January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
