B5277 Allithwaite Road, Allithwaite - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (B5277 ALLITHWAITE ROAD, ALLITHWAITE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the B5277 Allithwaite Road, from its junction with Wraysholme Lane, extending in a easterly direction for approx. 140 metres.
A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the B5278, A590, B5277 Kendal Road, B5277 Holme Lane and the unrestricted section of the B5277.

The Order will come into operation on 5th January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
