Cumberland, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Waiting and Loading/Unloading Restrictions due to Telecom Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN MARYPORT, COCKERMOUTH AND WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable telecom works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the following sections of road:

  1. Eaglesfield Street, Maryport (both sides), from a point adjacent to property No.16 Eaglesfield Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 50m.

    Duration: From 6 January 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/16640)

  2. Kirkby Street, Maryport, (north side), from its junction with Crosby Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 20m.

    Duration: From 6 January 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/16641)

  3. Meadow Grove, Cockermouth (north side), from a point approx. 20m southeast of its junction with the B5292, Victoria Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m.

    Duration: From 19 January 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/16712)

  4. Senhouse Street, Workington (both sides), from its junction with Bolton Street extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 70m.

    Duration: From 20 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/16821)

  5. Blackburn Street, Workington (both sides), from its junction with Senhouse Street extending in a southerly direction for approx. 40m.

    Duration: From 20 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/16821)

    The Order will come into operation on 6 January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
