Mountjoy Brow, Underbarrow - Temporary Road Closure due to Tree Removal and Highway Repair Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5059 MOUNTJOY BROW, UNDERBARROW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable tree removal and highway repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5059 Mountjoy Brow, Underbarrow from its junction with Slackbury Lane, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 270 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the C5048 Crosthwaite, A5074 Winster, B5284 and the unrestricted sections of C5059.

The Order will come into operation on 25th January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
