A353, Poxwell & Osmington, Dorset - Temporary Road Closure due to Water Main Replacement

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of A353, Poxwell & Osmington

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A353, Poxwell & Osmington from Poxwell Manor Farm Entrance to junction with Mills Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1950 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th January 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd January 2026.

This Order will provide Wessex Water with a safe working area to replace a water main.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using A352, A35, A354, A353 and vice versa.
