What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make
the following Orders.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

A264 Ashurst Hill, Ashurst, TN3 9TW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow railway repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A264 Ashurst Hill, Ashurst, on or after 3rd January 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 23:59 on 3rd January 2026 and 04:00 on 5th January 2026 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A264 Ashurst Hill, A264 Ashurst Road, B2110 Groombridge Hill, B2110 Withyham Road, B2110 Castlefields, B2026 Edenbridge Road, A264 Colestock Road, A264 East Grinstead Road, A264 Watch Oak Hill and vice versa.



Bramble Reed Lane, Matfield, TN12 7EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bramble Reed Lane, Matfield, on or after 17th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Bramblings for a distance approximately 80 metres in a Northwest direction to outside number 4 Bramble Reed, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bramble Reed Lane, B2160 Maidstone Road, Chestnut Lane, Foxhole Lane, Bramble Reed Lane and vice versa.



Green Lane, Benenden, TN17 4AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Green Lane, Benenden, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Benenden Hospital. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Green Lane, Goddards Green Road, New Pond Road, B2086 The Street, B2086 Rolvenden Road, Stepneyford Lane, Green Lane and vice versa.



Marle Place Road, Horsmonden, TN12 8DT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Marle Place Road, Horsmonden, on or after 17th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside High Banks for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction to outside Ruck Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ruck Lane, B2162 Lamberhurst Road, Tong Lane, Green Lane, Tong Road, Marle Place Road and vice versa.



Modest Corner, Southborough, TN4 0LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility asset repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Modest Corner, Southborough, on or after 16th December 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Victoria Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Pixot Hill, Brenchley (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pixot Hill, Brenchley, on or after 17th December 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Watermans Lane and the junction with Crook Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mile Oak Road, Pearsons Green Road, Churn Lane, B2162 Maidstone Road, Yew Tree Green Road, Crook Road and vice versa.



Woodside Road, Rusthall, TN4 8NU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow underground cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Woodside Road, Rusthall, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 31. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grange Road, Bretland Road, Rusthall Road, Apsley Street, Woodside Road and vice versa.
