Tonbridge and Malling, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make
the following Orders.
TONBRIDGE & MALLING
Blackmans Lane, Hadlow, TN11 0AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Blackmans Lane, Hadlow, on or after 16th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 150 metres South of Blackmans Farm, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a South direction towards the entrance to Bourneside Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Hadlow Road East, Three Elm Lane, Blackmans Lane and vice versa.
Hill Chase, Walderslade, ME5 9HE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hill Chase, Walderslade, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between property number 33 and property number 37. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, ME20 6FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow railway bridge repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kiln Barn Road, New Road, A20 London Road, New Road, High Street, The Rocks Road, Easterfields, Kiln Barn Road and vice versa.
Mill Street, Snodland, ME6 5AP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow railway level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Street, Snodland, on or after 4th January 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20 metres either side of Snodland Level Crossing, between the hours of 18:00 and 03:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Rochester Road, Burham, ME1 3SS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rochester Road, Burham, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Scarborough Lane to the junction with Downsview, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rochester Road, New Court Road, Village Road, Peters Bridge Roundabout, Hall Road, Knowle Road, Rochester Road and vice versa.
Vigo Hill, Trottiscliffe, ME19 5ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vigo Hill, Trottiscliffe, on or after 18th December 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Taylors Lane, Ford Lane, A20 London Road, Wrotham Heath Roundabout, A20 London Road, A227 Gravesend Road and vice versa.
VARIOUS ROADS, AYLESFORD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Aylesford as per the schedule below.
This Order takes effect on or after 1st January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

The primary diversion will be via A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Royal Engineers Road, Forstal Road and vice versa.
The diversion for Aylesford Village will be via Rochester Road, A229 Bluebell Hill, A229 Chatham Road (and vice versa) before joining the primary diversion or exiting at Forstal Road, dependent on destination.
