What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make
the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
Darman Lane, Paddock Wood (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Darman Lane, Paddock Wood, on or after 17th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from opposite Fowlhall Cottage, for a distance approximately 75 metres in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Darman Lane, Claygate Road, Jarmons Lane, B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Claygate, B2162 Maidstone Road, Churn Lane, Pearsons Green Road, Mile Oak Road, Queen Street, Darman Lane and vice versa.
High Banks, Loose, ME15 0AG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Banks, Loose, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside The Dell, for a distance approximately 70 metres in a Northwest direction to outside Southgate. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Banks, Well Street, Forstal Lane, Stockett Lane, B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Road, Old Loose Hill, High Banks and vice versa.
Sherenden Lane, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sherenden Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from approximately 230 metres West of the junction with Wilden Park Road, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction towards The Small Holding. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sherenden Lane, Wilden Park Road, Five Oak Lane, Pinnock Lane, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 High Street, Marden Road, Battle Lane, Howland Road, High Street, B2079 Church Green, B2079 West End, B2079 Goudhurst Road, Sherenden Lane and vice versa.
Thatch Barn Road, Headcorn, TN27 9TT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thatch Barn Road, Headcorn, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 13. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Windmill Hill & Pye Corner, Ulcombe, ME17 1EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Windmill Hill & Pye Corner, Ulcombe, on or after 15th December 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
Windmill Hill will be closed from in the vicinity of Orchard House to the junction with Pye Corner, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Diversion 1 for any through traffic is via Windmill Hill, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Liverton Hill, Lenham Road, Eastwood Road and vice versa.
Diversion 2 for any through traffic is via Windmill Hill, Lenham Road, Ulcombe Hill, The Street and vice versa.
Pye Corner will be closed between the junction with Windmill Hill and the junction with Headcorn Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Ulcombe Hill, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Liverton Hill, Lenham Road, Eastwood Road and vice versa.
