What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (LINDBURY AVENUE, OFFERTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Lindbury Avenue, Offerton, at the junction of Hillcrest Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for gas mains replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 15 days. A diversion will be provided via Hillcrest Road, Broadway, Villdale Avenue, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians.
This Order is to come into operation on 5 January 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/13348818 Dated: 10 December 2025.
