The A75 Trunk Road Croc Ketford - Temporary 20mph And 40mph Speed Restrictions

What is happening?

TRANSPORT SCOTLAND

THE A75 TRUNK ROAD (CROC KETFORD) (TEMPORARY 20MPH AND 40MPH SPEED RESTR ICTIONS) ORDER 2025

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing temporary 20mph and 40mph speed restrictions on the following lengths of road:

20MPH
1. That length A75 Gretna- Stranraer Trunk Road at Crocketford, from a point 236 metres or thereby north east of the extended centre line of its junction with the A712, Maiden Row, to a point 256 metres or thereby south west of the extended centre line of its junction with the A712, Maiden Row, a distance of 492 metres or thereby

40MPH

2. That length of the A75 Gretna- Stranraer Trunk Road at Crocketford, from a point 236 metres or thereby north east of the extended centre line of its junction with A712, Maiden Row, to a point 503 metres or thereby north east of the extended centre line of its junction with A712, Maiden Row, a distance of 267 metres or thereby.

3. That length of the A75 Gretna- Stranraer Trunk Road at Crocketford, from a point 256 metres or thereby south west of the extended centre line of its junction with the A712, Maiden Row, to a point 523 metres or thereby south west of the extended centre line of its junction with the A712, Maiden Row, a distance of 267 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interest of road safety, will be in operation from 12th December 2025 until 12th June 2027, and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

An alternative route is not required.
