What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Mewith Lane, Low Bentham, Order 2026, No. 489

We intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Mewith Lane, Low Bentham for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 05/01/26 & 13/03/26, due to Yorkshire Water works to renew the water mains. However, the max duration of this Order is until 05/07/26.

20 Mph Speed Limits, Various Roads, Kildwick & Farnhill, Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 20 mph on any length of road specified below:–

  • Skipton Road, Kildwick, from its junction with Kirkgate, west for a distance of 84m.

  • Main Street, Farnhill, from its junction with Grange Road to its junction with Kirkgate.

  • Kirkgate, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Priest Bank Road, Kildwick, from its junction with Main Road to a point 26m to the north east of the centre line of the Leeds/Liverpool Canal.

  • Main Road, Kildwick, from its junction with Skipton Road to a point 76m south of the projected centre line of Priest Bank Road.

  • Starkey Lane, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Highcroft Way, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • The Crofts, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Lang Kirk Close, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Newby Road, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Back Mary Street, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Mary Street, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Bright Street, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • Hanover Street, Farnhill, in its entirety.

  • South View, Farnhill, in its entirety.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, High Street, Skipton, BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 04/12/25 until 16/01/26 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map
