What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BRIDLEWAY NO.213002 IN THE PARISH OF BOTHEL AND THREAPLAND) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS, HORSES AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to the dangerous condition of the bridle bridge and to enable subsequent repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, horses and cyclists from proceeding along an approx. 680m length of Public Bridleway No. 213002 in the Parish of Bothel and Threapland, between grid references 317166 539818 and 317299 539155.

There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians, horses and cyclists.

This follows an emergency notice dated 20 November 2025.

The Order will come into operation on 11 December 2025 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
