What is happening?

THE HAMPSHIRE (GOSPORT) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020 (VARIATION NO. 4) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 25th November 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to implement a prohibition of waiting on the north side of Green Road between a point 44 metres east of its junction with The Avenue and a point 19 metres east of that point.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Thursday 11th December 2025.

FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this notice, the proposed order, a map showing the location and effect of the proposal, a statement of reasons and the order to be varied may be viewed at https://www.hants.gov.uk/community/publicnotices/?typeid=5 or inspected during the usual office hours at the following places:

(i) Gosport Discovery Centre, High Street Gosport, PO12 1BT (Opening hours: Monday – Wednesday & Friday, Saturday: 09.30 – 13.30; Thursday: 09.30 – 13.00)
(ii) Gosport Borough Council, Town Hall, High Street, Gosport, PO12 1EB (Opening hours: Monday – Friday: 09.00 – 17.00)
(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)
(iv) Copies of the order as made, plan and statement of reasons can also be obtained by e-mailing public.notices@hants.gov.uk or by writing to Traffic Orders Team, Safer Roads and Parking, Universal Services, 2nd Floor, Elizabeth II Court West, The Castle, Winchester SO23 8UD quoting reference: A2105/KK

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Friday 16th January 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
