What is happening?

The Borough of Halton
(Various footpaths, widnes) (Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Halton Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order under Section 14(1) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

Road(s) affected: 

Footpath G-1-6HG Side of 44 Arden WIDNES Footpath 02HG Side 131 to 164 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-1-5HG Side 41 Arden WIDNES

Footpath G-2-12HG 118 to 127 Afton WIDNES Footpath G-2-18HG 98 to 102 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-2-9HG 128 to 130 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-2-5HG 131 to 135 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-2-26HG 90 to 92 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-2-22HG 93 to 97 Afton WIDNES

Footpath G-2-7HG 154 to 158 Afton WIDNES 

Reason for making the Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the road should be prohibited and/or restricted because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. 

Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall during the works period enter or proceed in or along the road. 

Alternative Routes: suitably signed alternative route(s) will be provided.

Date Order to come into effect: 5 January 2026

Maximum duration of the Order: 6 months from the date  the Order comes into effect. 

Note: The closure is for gas main and service replacement. Residential access will be maintained during the works. For further information contact 02039 771018
