What is happening?
THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE
BACKWORTH, LONGBENTON, NORTH SHIELDS, TYNEMOUTH, WHITLEY BAY, NORTH TYNESIDE
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic on:
BACKWORTH
Church Roads level crossing.
An alternate route is available via Church Road, Earsdon To Backworth Link Road, Front Street, Earsdon Road, Rotary Road, Station Road.
The proposed temporary Order is required for rail inspections and will come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.

LONGBENTON
The footpath to the rear of numbers 6 to 9 Camsey Place.
Alternate routes are available via the footpaths surrounding Camsey Place.
The proposed temporary Order is required for an LV overlay scheme and will come into force on 5 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 9 days.

NORTH SHIELDS
1. Cardonnel Street Lane to the rear of numbers 37 to 29.
An alternate route is available via Waterville Road, Cardonnel Street, Upper Elsdon Street. The proposed temporary Order is required to install a water meter and will come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

2. Padstow Road Lane from Ripley Avenue to the rear of 27 Padstow Road.
An alternate route is available via Ripley Avenue North, Avon Avenue, Lowdham Avenue.
The proposed temporary Order is required for a works cleanse and then CCTV sewer survey and come into force on 14 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.

3. Park Avenue Lane at the rear of numbers 22-24 Park Avenue.
An alternate route is available via Washington
Terrace, Kitchener Terrace, Park Avenue Lane. The proposed temporary Order is required for comm pipe renewals and will come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

TYNEMOUTH
Millview Drive from outside 71-79
An alternate route is available via Monks Way, Marshmont Avenue, Monkstone Crescent The proposed temporary Order is required To access and carry out survey to sewer and will come into force on 7 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.

WHITLEY BAY
Whitley Road Lane to the rear of numbers 282-293.
An alternate route is available via the adjacent lanes.
The proposed temporary Order is required to install poly ducting within the carriageway and will come into force on 5 January 2026 for a period not exceeding 12 days.
