A52 Trunk Road - Temporary Restriction And Prohibition Of Traffic To Gas Maintenance Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(a) And (7)
THE A52 TRUNK ROAD (RADCLIFFE ON TRENT, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A52 Trunk Road, in the County of Nottinghamshire, to allow gas maintenance works to take place.

The effect of the Order will be to-

(1) impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on-

(a) the westbound carriageway of the A52 from the centreline of its junction with Lees Barn Road, to a point 400 metres southwest of the centreline of its junction with Stragglethorpe Road, near Radcliffe on Trent;

(b) the eastbound carriageway of the A52 from a point 400 metres southwest of the centreline of its junction with Stragglethorpe Road, to the centreline of its junction with Lees Barn Road, at Radcliffe on Trent;

(2) close the gap in the central reservation of the A52 opposite its junction with Stragglethorpe Road, near Radcliffe on Trent; and

(3) prohibit vehicles from turning right –

(a) from the eastbound carriageway of the A52 into Stragglethorpe Road, and

(b) from Stragglethorpe Road into the eastbound carriageway of the A52.

The works are expected to start on Monday 5th January 2026 and continue for approximately twelve weeks. The speed limit, gap closure and right turn bans will be in place 24 hours per day for the duration of the work. The Order will come into force on Monday 29th December 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority and ambulance purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction, gap closure and right turn bans. Vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction. Vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the gap closure and right turn bans.
