Cumberland - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2038 BRIDEKIRK, U2085 ARKLEBY AND C2007 HIGH BRIGHAM, BRIGHAM) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
C2038 Bridekirk, from its junction with the U2969, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 220m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2038, A594 Dovenby to Papcastle and the A595.
Duration: From 11 December 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours (Ref: TTROC/16483)
U2085 Arkleby, near Aspatria, from a point approx. 100 metres south east of Throstle Hall Cottages, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 110m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2085, A596, Aspatria, B5301 and U2086.
Duration: From 15 December 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1600 hours (Ref: TTROC/16502)
C2007 High Brigham, Brigham from its junction with the C2039, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 60m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2007 High Brigham, Low Road and Stan Lonning.
Duration: From 16 December 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours (Ref: TTROC/16537)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 11 December 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
