Notice is hereby given that on the 27 November 2025 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order was to amend the North Somerset Council Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to revoke existing speed limits on the A371 and A368 in Banwell and reinstate the original speed limits on those roads.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Green Lane, Blagdon Lane, Upper Green Lane, Mill Lane, The Batch, Butcombe, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 9 March 2026

Ref: SW25.26-235

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to cure sewer lining to prevent groundwater infiltration. This order will become operative on the 9 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 68 days in duration. The commencement dates of the phase closures are approximate and subject to the progression of the works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule – Phase 1: Green Lane from outside Barley Brook House to junction with Mill Lane/Blagdon Lane (9 March 2026 to 13 March 2026).

Phase 2: Blagdon Lane from outside Mill Inn to outside Yew Tree Barn (16 March to 20 March 2026).

Phase 3: Mill Lane from junction with The Batch to junction with Blagdon Lane (23 March 2026 to 27 March 2026).

Phase 4: Upper Green Lane from outside Little Orchard to junction with The Batch (23 March 2026 to 10 April 2026).

Phase 5: The Batch from outside Crossways to outside Florence Cottage (13 April 2026 to 15 May 2026).

Footpath AX16/8/30, Congresbury, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 23 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Allison Homes for archaeology investigation and excavation for a proposed development (subject to any planning consent). This order will become operative on the 23 February 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 months in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Sladacre Lane, Blagdon, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 12 January 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace stop tap. This order will become operative on the 12 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Monks Hill, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 2 February 2026

Ref: SW25.26-239

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace old metallic gas mains. This order will become operative on the 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 33 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 20 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for cabling works. This order will become operative on the 23 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 15 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. This order will become operative on the 19 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 17 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
