NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the proposals - in accordance with parking policy & planning permissions - is to amend the eligibility of the following properties to apply for Residents & Visitors Parking Permits as follows:
1. Marston North – exclude No.44 Arlington Drive from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.
2. Marston South – exclude the flats at Friar Court, No.2 Old Marston Road (30 student rooms) from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.
3. North Oxford – exclude the new properties at the ‘University College Annexe’ development at No.115 Banbury Road/No.98 Woodstock Road/Staverton Road (40 student rooms) from eligibility for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.
4. Wood Farm – exclude No.56 & No.67 Atkyns Road from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.
Additionally – in the newly created Central Didcot permit parking area, following requests and a subsequent review by Officers, it is proposed that residents of Nos.1-44 Rymans Court will be eligible to apply for both resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.
The proposals will further amend the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Marston North Area) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2021, the Oxfordshire County Council (Marston South) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2007, the Oxfordshire County Council (North Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone and Various Restrictions) Order 2004, the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Wood Farm Area) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2019, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – South Oxfordshire) (Map Based) (Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting And Permitted Parking) Order 2021.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 09 January 2026.
The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice.
They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Grove, Denchworth Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 1/12/2025
Coming into force: 8/12/2025
This Order is being introduced because of works to remove non-compliant boundary and install palisade fencing which are anticipated to take until 19/12/2025 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the Denchworth Grove road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Brook Lane, Hyde Road, Main Street, School Road, Mill Orchard, Summertown, A338, Oxford Lane, Denchworth Road and Vice Versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16593/RMF)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Benson, Lockside View Walkway
Date of Order: 29 May 2023
Came into force: 5 June 2023
This Order was introduced for the closure of the Thames Footpath (weir walkway) required on safety grounds due to damage to the structure from river debris and the heightened potential for further impact damage during high flow conditions. The safety notices and closure works were started on 5 June 2023. The present extended end date of the work and closure was 31 December 2025 but the closure has been extended until 30 June 2026 to complete the ongoing unfinished work. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the Lockside View Walkway. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for works and for pedestrian access to the point of the closure. The diversionary route is via Wallingford Bridge or Shillingford bridge. Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. With the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport the order will remain in place until 30 June 2026 or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Milton Heights, Trenchard Avenue (Prohibition of Through Traffic) & Abingdon Road A4130
(30mph speed limit)
Date of Order: 29 December 2025
Coming into force: 5 January 2026
This Order is being introduced for the implementation of a bus lane, junction improvements and pedestrian crossing works which are anticipated to be completed 16 October 2026. This is a 24 hour road closure and 24 hour speed limit restriction. The effect of the Order is to:
a) temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Trenchard Avenue between the junction of Milton Hill to the junction of Abingdon Road A4130.
b) temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding along Abingdon Road, A4130 in excess of 30mph
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions for access to Trenchard Avenue and Abingdon Road by emergency services and for works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The relevant alternative route for traffic is via Milton Hill Road to A4130 and vice versa.
The relevant parts of the Oxfordshire County Council (Milton, Abingdon) (Speed Limits) (No.2) Order 2024 shall be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16868/AC)
