What is happening?
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
(LYMINGTON ROAD, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE OF INTENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 23 February 2026. The works expected for:
• Sewer cover and frame replacement to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 23 February 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:–
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Lymington Road, both sides, from its junction with Freshwater Road for 5 metres in a southerly direction.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Freshwater Road, westbound carriageway, from a point 6.5 metres east of the common property boundary of Nos. 25 and 27 Freshwater Road for 14.5 metres in an easterly direction.
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Lymington Road, both sides, from its junction with Kemp Road to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Freshwater Road.
Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
• Via Lymington Road, Kemp Road, Cornshaw Road, Freshwater Road and Vice Versa.
When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:
• 2-way traffic light signals on Freshwater Road, at the common property boundary of 23/25 Freshwater Road and at the common property boundary of 33/35 Freshwater Road.
