What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(CHOATS ROAD, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF INTENT

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate a temporary to permanent reinstatement following on from main water main repair works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

  2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Tuesday 27 January 2026. The works expected for:

    • A temporary to permanent reinstatement following on from main water main repair works, to take 4 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 30 January 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00pm on Tuesday 27 January 2026 and 5.00am on Friday 30 January 2026.

    However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

  3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

    • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Choats Road, both sides, from its junction with Choats Manor Way to its junction with Hitch Street.

  4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

    • Via Choats Road, Renwick Road, Ripple Road (A13), Ripple Road bypass, Ripple Road (A1306), and Choats Manor Way and Vice versa.
