C4025 Forest Bridge & C4018 Greendale, Copeland – Temporary Road Closures due to Highway Repairs

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(C4025 FOREST BRIDGE, WASDALE AND C4018 GREENDALE TO WASDALE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out, which includes patching works and parapet repairs (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. C4024 Forest Bridge, Wasdale, from its junction with the C4019, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 60m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C4025, Santon Bridge, C4026, Gosforth, C4018 and C4019.
Duration: From 5 January 2026 for approx. 3 days

2. C4018 Greendale to Wasdale Head, from its junction with the C4019 at Greendale, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 2 February 2026 for approx. 7 weeks

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 5 January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
