M25 Motorway - Temporary Traffic Restrictions To Works

What is happening?

M25 MOTORWAY JUNCTION 10 to 12 – TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Surrey, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order would be to:-

1) impose a 24-hour 50mph speed restriction on –

a) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point approximately 1030 metres north of the Parvis Road overbridge (A245) and a point approximately 485 metres north of the Almners Road overbridge;

b) the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point 857 metres south of the centre point of M25 Junction 12 (M3 Junction 2) and a point approximately 565 metres south of the Woodham Lane underbridge (B385); and c) all the slip roads at M25 Junction 11 (A317).

2) authorise the overnight closures of all slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at Junction 11(A317).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway widening works on the exit slip roads at M25 Junction 11 (A317).

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 15 months starting on or after Monday 5th January 2026. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).

The Order would come into force on the 3rd January 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete Traffic affected by the slip and link road closures will be diverted using M25 Junctions 10 and 13 depending on direction of travel.

The temporary speed limits would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
