Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to amend the North Somerset Council (Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to alter the speed restrictions on A370 West Town Road, A370 Farleigh Road and Dark Lane at their junction with Station Road, Backwell commonly known as the Backwell Crossroads.
The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this Notice.

Schedule - 20mph Speed Limit Restrictions:
A370 West Town Road southwest bound creating a new 20mph speed limit from the centre of Backwell Crossroads to a point 288m along the road approximately opposite the path between property numbers 33 and 35 West Town Road. Plan Reference: BSIP-NSC-TRO-A370-BWS-GA-004.
A370 Farleigh Road northeast bound creating a new 20mph speed limit from the centre of Backwell Crossroads to a point 288m along the road, approximately opposite the path between property numbers 30 and 32 Farleigh Road. Plan Reference: BSIP-NSC-TRO-A370-BWS-GA-004.
Dark Lane southeast bound creating a new 20mph speed limit from the centre of Backwell Crossroads to a point 49m along the road to opposite the boundary between property numbers 10 and 12 Dark Lane where the existing 20mph speed limit terminates. Plan Reference: BSIP-NSC-TRO-A370-BWS-GA-004.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include amendments to parking restrictions (laybys) on Heywood Road, Pill, North Somerset.
The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this notice.

Revocation of Disabled Person’s Parking Places:
Heywood Road, Pill – the disabled person’s parking space in the layby to the west side of the pedestrian crossing on the south side of the road to be removed. Plan Reference: BSIP-PSH-HGN-1200-DR-CH-0003 TRO-A1.
Amendments to Limited Waiting Parking Places:
Heywood Road, Pill – the limited waiting parking spaces in the layby to the west side of the pedestrian crossing on the north side of the road to be reduced in length from 30.8m to 23m. Plan Reference: BSIP-PSH-HGN-1200-DR-CH-0003 TRO-A1.
Heywood Road, Pill – the limited waiting parking spaces in the layby to the west side of the pedestrian crossing on the south side of the road to be reduced in length to 14.5m. Plan Reference: BSIP-PSH-HGN-1200-DR-CH-0003 TRO-A1.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Clapton Lane, Clapton-in-Gordano, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 14 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for a pole test. This order will become operative on the 14 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 hours in duration, between 9.30am and 1.30pm.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for works carried out on a pole and laying cable. This order will become operative on the 24 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 1 December 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order was required because of pre-surface dressing patching and will become operative on 1 December 2025, anticipated to be of 5 working days. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule – Walton Street, Walton-in-Gordano full extents B3124 to Charlcombe Rise. Down Road – Charlcombe Rise to Valley Road junction including the junction.
