What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF OLDHAM
DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT (FOOTPATHS 221A OLDHAM AND 221B OLDHAM) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 27 November 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them two footpaths, namely:

Footpath 221A Oldham - which commences at point A opposite No. 1 Arncliffe Rise, Moorside at GR SD95997 07542 and proceeds in a southeasterly direction for a distance of approximately 29 metres to terminate at point B opposite No. 2 Arncliffe Rise, Moorside at GR SD96001 07513.

Footpath 221B Oldham - which commences at point C opposite the junction of Arncliffe Rise and Thirlstone Avenue, Moorside at GR SD96016 07569 and proceeds in a generally easterly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres to terminate at point D opposite No. 18 Arncliffe Rise at GR SD96033 07558.

A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at the J R Clynes Building (Reception Area), Union Street, Oldham between the hours of 8.40am to 5.00pm (Ref: AE/FD6/24). Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Environment Group Solicitor, Spindles Shopping Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1LF or by email to alan.evans@oldham.gov.uk before 19 January 2026, and should state the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Oldham Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the order (or that part of the order). If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
