Shawcliffe Lane and Berrys Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SHAWCLIFFE LANE AND BERRYS LANE, GREAT HARWOOD, HYNDBURN BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Hyndburn:
i. Shawcliffe Lane from its junction with Moor Lane for a distance of 605 metres in a north easterly direction.
ii. Berrys Lane from its junction with Moor End for a distance of 400 metres in an easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0830 hours Thursday 11th December 2025 to 1630 hours on to Friday 19th December 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Residents access will be maintained although short delays possible. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. No diversion due to the closure being a no through road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Telecoms Civil works undertaken by Morrison Telecom Services.
