What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.14 (PART) THORPE

WHEN: 27 December 2025 to 22 June 2026.
WHERE: Close the footpath from Dove Dale stepping stones to SK14750 51028.
REASON: To facilitate public safety due to path erosion.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the southern closure point cross the footbridge over the River Dove. Travel northeast along the un-numbered track to the stepping stones. If the stones are visible, they can be used to cross the river and meet the northern closure point of the footpath.

If they are flooded an un-numbered path carries on after the track ends on the west side of the river.

The County Council intends to make an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.

Julian Gould, Highways Director - Place, County Hall, MATLOCK, DE4 3AG.
