NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, PRESTON CITY AND SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH) (REVOCATION AND VARIOUS PARKING RESTRICTIONS (24-25 NO1D)) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 25 November 2025 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (Fishergate Phase 2, Various Roads, Preston, Preston City) (Revocation and Various Parking Restrictions) Order 2016" insofar as it relates to Item b) of Schedule 10.
2. The "Lancashire County Council (Preston Area) (On Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Consolidation Order 2009" insofar as it relates to Item (267)(ii) of Schedule 10.01.
3. Introduce a prohibition of waiting in the following lengths of road:
a) Chapel Lane, New Longton, the south side, from a point 10 metres east of its junction with the centreline of South Avenue for a distance of 20 metres in a westerly direction;
b) Cheapside, Preston, the west side, from a point 38 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Fishergate for a distance of 10.5 metres in a northerly direction;
c) South Avenue, New Longton, both sides, from its junction with the centreline of Chapel Lane for a distance of 14 metres in a southerly direction.
4. Introduce a prohibition of loading and unloading in Cheapside, Preston, the west side, from a point 38 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Fishergate for a distance of 10.5 metres in a northerly direction.
5. Introduce a goods vehicle loading bay in Cheapside, Preston, the west side, from a point 22 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Fishergate for a distance of 16 metres in a northerly direction.

This Order will come into force on the 08 December 2025. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box 10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, and at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils Website

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
