Angus, Kirriemuir/Brechin/Forfar/ Blairgowrie and other areas - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, to allow for resurfacing works.
What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 01 December 2025, Angus Council made The Angus Council (B957 At Horniecross)(Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2025 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that carriageway resurfacing works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 09 December 2025 from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of eight days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on the Forfar to Inverquharity (C29) road; (a) from its junction with the B957 Kirriemuir to Tannadice road in a northerly direction for a distance of 80m or thereby and (b) in a southerly direction for a distance of 80m or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative route for southbound vehicles is via the Forfar to Inverquharity (C29), Kirriemuir to Coull Smithy to Brechin (C31), Sheillhill Road, Roods, Reform Street (B956) and B957 Kirriemuir to Tannadice roads. The alternative route for northbound vehicles is via Forfar to Inverquharity (C29), Forfar - Craichie (B9128), Blairgowrie - Kirriemuir – Forfar (A926), Bellies Brae (A928), St Malcolm’s Wynd (B956), Reform Street (B956) and Kirriemuir to Tannadice (B957) roads.
