Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure And Suspension Of One-Way Traffic On Part Of The U1023 Silent Street, Ipswich

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1023 Silent Street, Ipswich from St Nicholas Street for 65 metres north eastbound to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: St Nicholas Street, Cutler Street, Franciscan Way, Greyfriars Road, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Princes Street, Friars Street, Falcon Street and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of one-way traffic on the U1023 Silent Street, Ipswich to allow access and egress. It is intended that these measures will operate from 02/12/2025 - 03/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A1092 Cavendish Road, Clare

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A1092 Cavendish Road, Clare from no. 3 for 30 metres westbound to facilitate remedial water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the A1092, the A134, the A131, the A1124, the A1017, the A1092 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7:00pm on 02/12/2025 – 6:00am on 03/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5042 Campion Road, Ipswich

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5042 Campion Road, Ipswich from 30 metres north of the junction with Speedwell Road for 15 metres northbound to facilitate works to underground telecommunication cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Speedwell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/12/2025 - 05/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U3422 Blakes Lane, Dallinghoo

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3422 Blakes Lane, Dallinghoo from Jackamans for 30 metres westbound to facilitate a communications pipe repair. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Potash Farm Road, Whitehouse Farm Road, Shop Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/12/2025 - 04/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1118 The Thorofare And Framlingham Road, Brundish

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1118 The Thorofare, Brundish from the junction with Dennington Road for 230 metres westbound and the B1118 Framlingham Road, Brundish from the junction with Dennington Road for 110 metres southbound to facilitate replacing telegraph poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the B1116, the B1117 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/12/2025 -12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of The B1079 Grundisburgh Road, Clopton

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1079 Grundisburgh Road, Clopton to facilitate jetting and investigation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the B1078, the B1077, the A1214, the A12, the B1438 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 8:00pm on 11/12/2025 – 3:00am on 13/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
