What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Harwich Road, Mistley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Clacton Road, Mistley/Long Road, Mistley/Lawford) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Harwich Road, Mistley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Chapel Cut to its junction with Shrubland Road a distance of approximately 205m.

  2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that Clacton Road, Mistley/Long Road, Mistley/Lawford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with the A137 to its junction with the A120 as detailed in the “The Essex County Council (North East Essex) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 1989”.

    The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2026 for 21 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001463661 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

    An alternative route is available via B1352, A120, B1053, B1352 and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 5th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Heath Road, Bradfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Clacton Road, Mistley) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Heath Road, Bradfield in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Dairyhouse Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction.

    2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that Clacton Road, Mistley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Long Road to its junction with Steam Mill Road as detailed in the “The Essex County Council (North East Essex) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 1989”.

    The closure/suspension are scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30005877834 – UK Power Networks).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    The closure/suspension are required for the safety of the public and workforce while underground service works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

    An alternative route is available via B1035, B1352 and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 5th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
