Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Safety Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C406 Station Road, Haughley

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C406 Station Road, Haughley from the railway track for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate the replacement of rails. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Station Road, the B1113, Pound Hill, Church Road, The Street, Rectory Road, Haughley Green, Bacton Road, The Green, Old Street, Station Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/11/2025 - 30/11/2025 from 12:30am – 7:00am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C556 Badwell Road, Walsham Le Willows

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C556 Badwell Road, Walsham Le Willows from The Elms for 250 metres westbound to facilitate remedial water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: The Causeway, Ixworth Road, Walsham Road, the A143, the A1088, The Street, Badwell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/12/2025 -12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U6405 Hopton Road, Coney Weston

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6405 Hopton Road, Coney Weston from the junction with Church Mill for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate a sluice valve repair. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Church Hill, Heath Road, Hopton Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/12/2025 -12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U3123 Margaret Street, Felixstowe

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3123 Margaret Street, Felixstowe from no. 7 for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Maidstone Road, Seaton Road, Kemsly Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/12/2025 -12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council (Parish Of Bawdsey) (Footpath 5) (Temporary Closure} Order 2020

This order which came into effect on 09/06/2020 closing Footpath 5 Bawdsey from the sheet pilings for 2200 metres northbound to Bridleway 3 has been extended in force by the Minister until 08/12/2026, or until the completion of the works whichever is the earlier.

This closure is required in the interests of public safety as the footpath continues to erode around the unstable steel pilings. Without the extension, the order would have ceased to be in force on 08/12/2025.
