What is happening?

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
 (PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY KP16 (PART) – HARPOLE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway KP16 (Part) in Harpole as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of bridleway are unaffected.

RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The route to be closed commences at point A on the Order map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 7055 6074 on the western side of the Sandy Lane relief road and proceeds north-east crossing the road and proceeding for 34 metres to terminate at point B at NGR SP 7058 6076. The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A and B.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety due to damage to the surface of the bridleway caused by extreme weather and to allow repairs to the surface.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: There are no suitable alternative routes.
