What is happening?

Norfolk County Council TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

LITTLE MELTON – U78008 Mill Road from its junction with C169 School Lane for 400m north-westwards to facilitate cabling works from 3rd to 19th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Mill Road, Rectory Lane, Great Melton Road. The works promoter is BT.

PULHAM MARKET – U76048 Semere Green from its junction with C260 Semer Lane for 588m southwards to facilitate tree trimming works between 08:00 and 17:00 from 3rd to 5th December 2025 (may continue until 16th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Semere Lane, A140 Ipswich Road, Norwich Road, Semere Green Lane (Pulham Market, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Tivetshall). The works promoter is Premier Tree Care.

STOKE HOLY CROSS – U78044 Chandler Road from 100m west of its junction with U78193 Valley Farm Lane for 100m westwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 1st December 2025 (may continue until 12th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Chandler Road, Wash Lane, Caistor Lane, Stoke Road, Norwich Road, Long Lane (Stoke Holy Cross, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley). The works promoter is Openreach.

SWARDESTON – B1113 Main Road from its junction with U78025 Gowthorpe Road for 180m north-eastwards to facilitate urgent drainage works. The Order continues the provisions of the Notice dated 16th November 2025 that the Road will be temporarily subject to a 10mph speed restriction from 21st to 28th November 2025 (previously 17th to 21st November 2025) (may continue until 9th January 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

THETFORD – Kimms Belt from its junction with Burrell Way for 375m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 08:00 and 17:00 from 1st to 2nd December 2025 (may continue until 13th January 2026). Alternative route is via: U30704 Kimms Belt, C587 London Road, A143 Bury Road, U30504 Icknield Way, U30701 Fulmerston Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Please note that the works will be carried out between 08:00 and 17:00 on each day within the anticipated dates.

THURTON – U76399 Vale Road from its junction with U71429 The Meadows for 180m eastwards to facilitate new fibre network installation works from 3rd to 13th December 2025 (may continue until 24th January 2026). Alternative route is via: A146 Norwich Road, The Avenues. The works promoter is CityFibre.

The team dealing with enquiries at Norfolk County Council is South Streetworks.

HEACHAM – A149 Lynn Road from 200m south of its junction with C105 Lamsey Lane for 600m northwards to facilitate surfacing and lining works between 21:00 and 06:00 from 2nd to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Heacham Road, Docking Road, Sedgeford Road, Bircham Road, Anmer Road, Hillington Road, Fakenham Road, Queen Elizabeth Way, Dersingham Bypass, Snettisham Bypass (Hillington, Snettisham, Roydon, Docking, Ingoldisthorpe, Congham, Castle Rising, Heacham, Dersingham, Flitcham with Appleton, Bircham, Sedgeford, Anmer, Sandringham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

KING’S LYNN – U20513 St James Street from 25m east of its junction with U20513 Church Street for 50m westwards to facilitate duct and box installation works between 20:00 and 05:00 from 1st to 3rd December 2025 (may continue until 14th January 2026). Alternative route is via: St James Street, St James Road, London Road, Millfleet, Stonegate Street, Church Street, Boal Street, South Quay, Kings Staithe Square, Purfleet Place, Queen Street, Saturday Market Place. The works promoter is BT.

OUTWELL – C16 Marsh Road from its junction with C5 Stow Road to its junction with C17 Hall Road to facilitate HRA patching works from 1st to 2nd December 2025 (may continue until 13th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Stow Road, Langhorns Lane, Downham Road, Wisbech Road, Hall Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

WIGGENHALL ST. MARY MAGDALEN

  1. C9 Lords Bridge from 30m northwest of its junction with Common Road for 60m south-eastwards and

  2. U211310 Common Road from its junction with C9 Lords Bridge for 30m north-eastwards to facilitate trial hole works from 1st to 5th December 2025 (may continue until 16th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Magdalen High Road, Fitton Road, School Road, Sluice Road, Common Road (Wiggenhall St. Germans, Wiggenhall St. Mary Magdalen). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

    The team dealing with enquiries at Norfolk County Council is West Streetworks.

    Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
