Mayson Street Temporary Road Closure Due To Pole Replacement Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (MAYSON STREET AND CURROCK ROAD (BACK LANE), CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable pole replacement works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the back lane of Mayson Street and Currock Road, Carlisle, from its junction with Mayson Street and Blackwell Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 180m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 18 December 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day, between 0930 and 1530 hours and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
