ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 22) ORDER 2025
A651 BRADFORD ROAD & SOUTH VIEW ROAD,
EAST BIERLEY, BIRKENSHAW
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects a lengths of roads in the Birkenshaw area of the Kirklees district, will be to amend the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 so as to:
i. Prohibit the waiting at any time on lengths of the following roads:
- South View Road, East Bierley
- 2. Bradford Road, East Bierley
- ii. Revoke items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map Based’ Format) Order 2024 relating to the existing waiting restrictions on South View Road, which will be redundant when certain parts of the restrictions referred to above are introduced.
REASON:Several personal injury collisions have been recorded at the junction of South View Road and Bradford Road, East Bierley. These incidents are primarily linked to parking issues at the location, which have caused problems with visibility and safe vehicle emergence.
To address these concerns, it is proposed to construct a buildout outside property No. 761 Bradford Road and extend the existing “No Waiting At Any Time” parking restrictions on both South View Road and Bradford Road. These measures aim to improve visibility and access for all road users.
It is anticipated that the proposals will reduce indiscriminate parking in and around the junction and enhance the overall safety and visibility for all road users using this route.
