Barrow in Furness, Temporary Road Closures Due To Santa Express Event
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (DALTON ROAD, PORTLAND WALK, STEPHEN STREET AND PAXTON STREET, BARROW IN FURNESS) (SANTA EXPRESS)(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Santa Express (“the Event”) in Barrow in Furness, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Barrow in Furness:
Dalton Road, from its junction with Paxton Street extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Portland Walk; and
Portland Walk, for its entire length; and
Stephen Street, from its junction with Paxton Street extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Portland Walk; and
Paxton Street, for its entire length
There are no suitable alternative routes available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 06th December 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 2 days, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
