What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(TEBWORTH ROAD, TEBWORTH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Tebworth Road, Tebworth at the junction with the A5.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15th to 17th December 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Hockliffe Rd, Toddington Rd, B5120, A5.

The Order will come into operation on 15th December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO EXTEND

NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON WEST PARADE, DUNSTABLE

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising; For facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To extend No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  West Parade, both sides, starting approximately 4 metres from the junction with Princes Street (where the existing waiting restrictions end) and extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 5 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE

A DISABLED PARKING BAY ON HILLBOROUGH CRESCENT, HOUGHTON REGIS

Reason for proposal: The disabled parking space would provide a dedicated place for blue badge holders to park. Effect of the Order:

To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following length of road in Houghton Regis:-

1.  Hillborough Crescent, south side, from a point in line with the shared property boundary between No.78 and No.80 and extending in a north-westerly direction, covering an area approximately 3.6 metres in width and 5 metres in length.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR CENTRAL

BEDFORDSHIRE) (CADDINGTON: RESTRICTED BYWAY NO. 40) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 28 November 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above-named Order without modification.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading Caddington Bridleway No. 40, also known as Tipple Hill Road, to a restricted byway which runs from Manor Road to Mancroft Road.

The length of Bridleway No. 40, Caddington to be upgraded to Restricted Byway No. 40, Caddington extends from its junction with Manor Road, Caddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0684 1864 in a southwesterly direction for approximately 94 metres along a track known as Tipple Hill Road to OS GR TL 0678 1858 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 46 metres along the road to OS GR TL 0674 1858 then continues in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 126 metres along the road to terminate at its junction with Mancroft Road, Caddington at OS GR TL 0663 1851.

Restricted Byway No. 40, Caddington has a variable width of between 4.0 metres and 7.5 metres, with a width of 5.9 metres at OS GR TL 0684 1864 narrowing to 4.6 metres, a width of 7.5 metres at OS GR TL 0678 1858, a width of 4.4 metres at OS GR TL 0676 1858, a width of 4.3 metres at OS GR TL 0674 1858, a width of 5.7 metres at OS GR TL 0670 1856, and a width of 7.1 metres at OS GR TL 0663 1851, the width being more particularly defined by its depiction on the Ordnance Survey 25”:1 mile map (2nd Ed.) of 1901 for Bedfordshire (sheet XXXII.12).

The Order comes into force on 28 November 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 to the Act within 6 weeks from 3 December 2025 make an application to the High Court.
