The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders:
The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Shanklin to Wroxall, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Cycle track Closure) Order No 3 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for three shifts, between Monday 08 December 2025, and Wednesday 10 December 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian, cyclist to proceed along Cycle Track from Shanklin to Wroxall, Shanklin, for its entire length. On-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during veg cutting.

The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians and Cyclists) Order No 6 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 and 1600 hours on Friday 5 December 2025, or when the works has been completed, Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, will be closed for its entire length, signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 5 December 2025 and Friday 16 January 2026 the following roads will be closed at all times for a period of approximately one to 15 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance, lining and investigation works, and any associated prep works, to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, restrictions and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. The Isle of Wight Council (Fishbourne Lane, Fishbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025
Fishbourne Road will be closed between the ferry entrance / exit to the end of the highway in a northern direction.

The Isle of Wight Council (Oaklands Close, Wootton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025
- Oaklands Close will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Marlborough Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 7 2025 – Marlborough Road will be closed for its entire length.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 5 December 2025 and Friday 16 January 2026 the following roads will be closed either between 0600 and 1800 hours or 1800 and 0600 hours for a period of approximately one to 15 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance, surfacing, hedging and quartering, lining and cats eyes works, and any associated prep works, to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. The Isle of Wight Council (Mayfield Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Mayfield Road will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Oakfield Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Oakfield Road will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Castle Street, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 6 2025 – Castle Street will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Dover Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Dover Road will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Well Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Well Road will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Parkhurst Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Parkhurst Road will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Quay Lane, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Quay Lane will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – High Street will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting at Any Time) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1600 hours and 2000 hours, on Saturday 06 December 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along: 1) Town Lane for its entire length; 2) South Street for its entire length; 3) Church Litten for its entire length; 4) St James Street for its entire length; 5) Trafalgar Road for its entire length; 6) Carisbrooke Road for its entire length; 7) High Street for its entire length; 8) Quay Street for its entire length; 9) Sea Street for its entire length; 10) The Quay for its entire length; 11) Pyle Street for its entire length.
B) no person shall cause any vehicle to wait along 1) Trafalgar Road for its entire length; 2) Carisbrooke Road for its entire length. On-street signage will depict the exact length of the closures.
This order is required in the interests of road safety during Newport Christmas Carnival.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting at Any Time) Order No 4 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1700 hours until 1900 hours on Friday 05 December 2025, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner:
1) no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road:
a) Dover Street for its entire length, b) Park Road for its entire length, c) Star Street for its entire length, d) High Street for its entire length, e) Union Street for its entire length and f) Esplanade for its entire length, and g) Church Lane for its entire length.
2) No person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to wait along Dover Street on either side for its entire length.
