LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH VOLTAIRE ROAD REIMAGINEDTHE LAMBETH (VOLTAIRE ROAD) (NO. 1) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2025
EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS IN  VOLTAIRE ROAD

[NOTE:  This Notice is about prohibiting unauthorised motor vehicles from entering or proceeding in the section of Voltaire Road between its junctions with Clapham High Street and Old Station Way. These measures will be introduced as an experiment in the first instance. Objections to this being 
continued on a permanent basis may be made, as well as any other comments]. 

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, in consultation with Transport for London, on 1 December 2025 made the above-mentioned Order under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to:
 (a) prohibit unauthorised motor vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Voltaire Road between its junction with Clapham High Street and its junction with Old Station Way between the hours of 7a.m. and midday, Monday to Friday;
 (b) prohibit all motor vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Voltaire Road between its junction with Clapham High Street and its junction with Old Station Way between the hours of midday and 7a.m., Monday to Friday;
 (c) relocate the Shared Use Parking Place currently located opposite Nos. 4 to 7 Voltaire Road to opposite No. 23 Voltaire Road;
 (d) designate a Shared Use Parking Place in Voltaire Road,  adjacent No. 20 Edgerley Road;
 (e) relocate the Car Club Parking Place from opposite No.19 Voltaire Road to opposite the north eastern boundary of No. 23 Voltaire Road;
 (f) relocate the Disabled Persons Parking Place from opposite No. 9 Voltaire Road to opposite the north eastern boundary of No. 23 Voltaire Road;
 (g) relocate the free Loading Place from outside No. 1 Voltaire Road to opposite No. 19 Voltaire Road.
 

3. Where it appears essential for certain purposes, the Council’s Assistant Director of Infrastructure, Environment, Public Realm & Climate Change Delivery, or any person authorised by him, may modify, or suspend any of the Orders or any of their provisions under section 10(2) of the Road 
Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

4. A copy of the Order which will come into effect on 15 December 2025, and other documents giving detailed particulars about them are available for inspection online at: https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth  or www.lambeth.gov.ukk/traffic-management-orders  and at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network

5. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under sections 6, 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.  Any person may object to the making of the permanent Orders, within a period of six months beginning with the date on which the experimental Order comes into force or, if the experimental Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force.  Any such objection or any representation must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made, using our consultation portal at https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or sent by post to Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), London Borough of Lambeth, PO Box 80771, London, SW2 9QQ or by email to:
