What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(NEVILLE CRESCENT BIRTLEY) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 03 December 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Neville Crescent from a point 75 metres north of its junction with Sanders Gardens in a northerly direction for a distance of 30 metres. The Order is required to allow maintenance works to be carried out on a telecom pole. The Order will come into force on the 10 December 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however the works are expected to be completed by the 11 December 2025. During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above roads until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
