What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
MAIN STREET, BESSINGBY

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along Main Street, Bessingby
between property numbers 1-4 commencing
19 December 2025. The reason for the closure is to
enable the proposed renewal of a stop tap and chamber
works, to be carried out and completed in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The
closure will be between 08.00 hours - 17.00 hours.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
nine hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the Order is via Main Street, Brick Kiln Balk,
Driffield Road and vice versa.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain
open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access
to properties directly affected by the closure and for
emergency services. The Order will commence
19 December 2025 and continue in force for a
period not exceeding eighteen months or until the
works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
