(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (The Avenue/The Cross/Colchester Road, Wivenhoe) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (Streetworks No.6) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester, as detailed in the Schedule.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of The Avenue/The Cross/Colchester Road, Wivenhoe, from the junction of Rosabelle Avenue to the junction of Heath Road as detailed in “The Colchester Borough (Rectory Road Etc., Wivenhoe) (Weight Restriction) Order, 1984” for the duration of the closures only.
3. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works are scheduled to commence after 4th December 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main upgrade works are undertaken by Cadent.
The Order will come into effect on 4th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.23) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Langham Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166092905 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Wick Road, School Road, Moor Road and vice versa (with access only into Park Lane).
The Order came into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Peldon Road, Abberton)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Peldon Road, Abberton in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 105m south west of its junction with Bracken Way for a distance of approximately 275m in a south west direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2366 – Jointing Solutions Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new electricity connection works are undertaken by Jointing Solutions Limited.
An alternative route is available via Peldon Road, St Ives Road, Mersea Road, B1025, Fingringhoe Road, Peldon Road and vice versa. (with access only into Peldon Road and Malting Road).
The Order came into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Priory Road, Tiptree)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Priory Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 150m north east of its junction with Braxted Park Road for a distance of approximately 120m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02271375172 – Connect Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Connect Highways.
An alternative route is available via Priory Road, Grange Road, Braxted Park Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(St Andrews Avenue, Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Andrews Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 520m north west, north east then north west of the junction with Greenstead Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th December 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310798251 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A133 and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Wood Lane, Fordham Heath)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wood Lane, Fordham Heath in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Choats Wood for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30041003389 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection and underground cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via: Wood lane, Porters Cottages, Fiddlers Hill, Mill Road, Church Road, Moat Road, Plummers Road, Wormingford Road, Fordham Road, B1058, A131, A1124, Wood Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
