What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A1155 FAIRLANDS WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the westbound carriageway of A1155 Fairlands Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A1155 St Georges Way roundabout north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A602 (Lytton Way roundabout), a distance of approximately 420m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A1155 St Georges Way and A602 (Six Hills Way/ Lytton Way).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LUFFENHALL/3U1951 (UNNAMED ROAD), LUFFENHALL) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Luffenhall/3U1951 (unnamed road), Luffenhall from its junction with Clothall Public Footpath No.026 south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m ("the length of Roads"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Luffenhall, Newell Lane, Heath Road, B1037 Whitehill, C14 (unnamed road) and 3U195 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the length of Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN PENN WAY, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Penn Way, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with A505 Letchworth Gate south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Blackmore, a distance of approximately 131m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via A505 Letchworth Gate, Howard Drive and Penn Way.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C25 (unnamed road), Ley Green from its junction with Whitehall Road westwards for a distance of approximately 168m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Whitehall Road, Church Road, Lilley Bottom, 5U128 (unnamed road) and C25 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chapel Street, Hinxworth from its junction with Chrishall Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 46m ("the Road"), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because sewer connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sperberry Hill, St Ippolyts from a point 61m south east of its junction with Titendall Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 82m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Sperberry Hill, B656 London Road, Little Almshoe Lane and Sperberry Hill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–
1. The road leading to Nos.55–101 Mildmay Road, Stevenage from its junction with Mildmay Road north westwards and northwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. The road situated to the rear of Nos.231–275 Archer Road, Stevenage from its junction with Archer Road north westwards for its entire length.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RAFFIN GREEN LANE, DATCHWORTH) ORDER NO.3 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Raffin Green Lane, Datchworth from its junction with A602 Hooks Cross south westwards for a distance of approximately 340m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A602 Hooks Cross, High Street, Station Road, Watton Road, Hawkins Hall Lane, Bury Lane and Raffin Green Lane.
The Order is needed because vegetation removal works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of the lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–
1. that length of A505 Cambridge Road, Hitchin from its junction with the Meadowbank/St Michaels Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the B656 Walsworth Road/A505 Nightingale Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 252m.
An alternative route will be via A505 (Cambridge Road/Baldock Road/Letchworth Gate/Baldock Bypass), B197 (Jacks Hill/High Street/Graveley Road), A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road/Park Way) and A505 (Old Park Road/Bedford Road/Shipbonds Road/Bunyan Road/Nightingale Road) or via A505 (Nightingale Road/Bunyan Road/Fishponds Road/Bedford Road/Paynes Park/Old Park Way/Stevenage Road/North Road/Bancroft/B679 (Bridge Street)/High Street/Jacks Hill) and A505 Baldock Bypass/Letchworth Gate/ Cambridge Road.
2. that length of Stevenage Road, Little Wymondley from its junction with Tower Close eastwards to its junction with Old Vicarage Close, a distance of approximately 203m.
An alternative route will be via Stevenage Road, A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road) and Stevenage Road.
3. that length of Priory Lane, Little Wymondley from its junction with Bladon Close north eastwards to its junction with Wymondley Public Footpath No.002, a distance of approximately 148m.
An alternative route will be via Priory Lane, Stevenage Road, Arch Road, Graveley Road and Priory Lane.
4. that length of Lower Green Road, Ickleford from its junction with Lower Green north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Ickleford Public Bridleway No.023, a distance of approximately 452m.
An alternative route will be via Arlesey Road, Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, B659 Hitchin Road, A507 (Arlesey Road/unnamed road), Hitchin Road, Stotfold Road, Wilbury Hills Road, Arlesey New Road and Arlesey Road.
5. that length of A507 Station Road, Baldock from its junction with Bygrave Road south eastwards to its junction with Football Close, a distance of approximately 191m.
An alternative route will be via A507 (North Road/Great North Road/London Road/Arlesey Road), A600 (Hitchin Road/Bedford Road), A505 (Bedford Road/Paynes Park/Adge Park Way/Stevenage Road/Wymondley Bypass), B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 Baldock Bypass, B656 Royston Road, Station Road, High Street and via A507 Station Road, B656 (Royston Road/Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (Jacks Hill/High Street/Graveley Road), A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road/Park Way) and A505 (Old Park Road/North Road).
6. that length of Gun Road, Knebworth from its junction with Gun Road Gardens south westwards to its junction with Gun Lane, a distance of approximately 317m.
An alternative route will be via Stockens Green, Hornbeam Spring, Gun Lane, Watton Road, and Gun Road.
7. that length of Watton Road/C29 (unnamed road), Stevenage and Watton Road, Knebworth from its junction with Hertford Road south westwards to its junction with Old Lane, a distance of approximately 1094m.
An alternative route will be via Hertford Road, A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross), High Street, Station Road, Watton Road, Datchworth Green, Mardleybrook Road, B197 London Road and Watton Road.
8. that length of Old Knebworth Lane, Stevenage/Knebworth from its junction with B197 Stevenage Road south westwards to its junction with Park Lane, a distance of approximately 2334m.
An alternative route will be via B197 Stevenage Road, Station Road, Stockens Approach and Park Lane.
9 that length of U7148 (unnamed road), Bygrave from its junction with A505 Royston Road north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Rushden and Wallington Public Bridleway No.041, a distance of approximately 244m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
10. that length of Station Road, Knebworth from its junction with Gun Lane north eastwards to its junction with B197 London Road, a distance of approximately 215m.
An alternative route will be via Station Approach, Park Lane, Nup End, Bury Lane, B656 (High Street/Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street) and B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS AND ROAD HUMPS NOTICE (HIGH STREET, DRAPERS WAY AND LETCHMORE ROAD, STEVENAGE) 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to make the above Orders to introduce waiting restrictions, limited time parking, motorcycle bays, disabled parking bays, taxi ranks and prescribed routes in parts of Stevenage as specified in Schedules 1 to 6 to this Notice.
It is also proposed under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to construct zebra pedestrian crossing facilities and remove an existing zebra pedestrian crossing facility in those lengths of High Street and Letchmore Road, Stevenage as specified in Schedules 7 and 8 to this Notice.
Under the provisions of section 90A - 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install road humps (raised tables and continuous footway raised tables) in those lengths of High Street and Drapers Way, Stevenage as specified in Schedule 9 to this Notice.

The above raised tables will be constructed at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:20, 1:11, 1:18 and 1:15.
High Street:
- (a) from a point 7 metres south east of a point in line with the boundary between Nos. 35 and 33 High Street south eastwards for 8.2 metres
- (b) from a point 5.1 metres south of a point in line with the north west kerbline of Letchmore Road footway north westwards for 8.2 metres
The above raised continuous footway will be constructed at a height of approximately 100mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:15.
The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council.
