What is happening?

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Bexhill 138)
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2022
To protect public safety during the construction of a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 20 May 2022 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
The whole of Public Footpath Bexhill 138 will be closed to all users between TQ 7091 0717 and TQ 7063 0693. Unfortunately, an alternative route is not available.
The closure will be in force for 18 months from 1 December 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U6957 Swainham Lane, Crowhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Swainham Lane – from the junction with C93 Crowhurst Road to the junction with U6957 Breadsell Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 16 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6961 Mill Lane, Westfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Mill Lane – from the junction with U6975 Cottage Lane to the junction with A28 Main Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6975 Cottage Lane – A28 Main Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6576 Ellerslie Lane, Bexhill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ellerslie Lane – from the junction with C346 Turkey Road to the junction with U6579 Fryatts Way.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C346 Turkey Road – U6589 Gunters Lane – U6586 West Down Road – A259(T) Little Common Road – U6744 Broadoak Lane – U6737 Deerswood Lane – U6576 Ellerslie Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C94 Marley Lane, Battle)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Marley Lane – from the junction with P6823 Rutherfords to the junction with U6330 Harrier Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C94 Marley Lane – A2100 Upper Lake, High Street, Ten Sixty Six roundabout, London Road – A21(T) Johns Cross roundabout, Vinehall Road, Woodmans Green Road, Hastings Road – C94 Marley Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 16 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C17 Wartling Road, Wartling)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wartling Road – from the junction with A271 The Strait to the junction with U7112 Wood Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C17 Wartling Road, Wartling Hill, Wartling Road – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road, Lower Street – A269 Bexhill Road, The Green, High Street, Standard Hill – A271 Boreham Hill, The Strait and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6716 Claremont Road, Bexhill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Claremont Road – at its junction with U6716 Sidley Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6716 Sidley Street, Preston Road – C345 Watermill Lane – A269 Ninfield Road – U6716 Claremont Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 9 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3202 Alpine Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Alpine Road – from the junction with U3198 Plynlimmon Road to the junction with U3186 Priory Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3198 Plynlimmon Road – U3202 Gordon Road – U3186 Priory Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 10 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C96 Netherfield Hill/Netherfield Road, Netherfield/Battle)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Netherfield Hill/Netherfield Road – from the junction with C96 Netherfield Road to the junction with A2100 London Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C96 Netherfield Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road – A271 North Trade Road, Ten Sixty Six roundabout – A2100 London Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 10 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
